In March 2022, product specialist Ken Gaylord led the slipform paving training session in central Minnesota sponsored by the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 49. This annual event for union employees provides various types of learning opportunities—from hands-on machine operations training to guidance on using cutting-edge features such as remote control technology. According to IUOE Local 49’s Lawrence “Junior” Geislinger, his chapter partners with Miller Formless “to gain knowledge straight from the source.”

“The reason Local 49 partnered with Miller Formless [on this slipform paving training initiative] is to gain knowledge straight from the source. Our contractors are excited to have a resource they can count on when there is new technology coming out every year and to see it in action pouring concrete. We have 14 signatory contractors in our jurisdiction that utilize Miller Formless curb machines and they are continually looking for trained operators. Working with Miller Formless has been a great experience and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
